Absolutely absurd: American astronauts are forbidden from communicating with their russian colleagues in outer space because of the crisis in Ukraine. Perhaps instead they might be swopping photobooks on their missions. For instance they could trade Cristina de Middels unexpectedly successful “The Afronauts”. In her book, the spanish photographer reports of the Zambians’ ambition to send the first African to space in 1964, only shortly after they gained their independence. Sadly, they failed in their efforts. All that remains is a book that reflects the post colonial emancipation of a country.
The small first edition of the book flew off the shelves at high speed, which is why there is now an unlimited eBook-Version.
